MBBChBAO (NUI) melalui University College Dublin dan Penang Medical College, bermula dengan biasiswa JPA. Tahun-tahun sebagai pegawai perubatan siswazah dan pegawai perubatan di Ipoh dan Kuala Lumpur, kemudian latihan kepakaran oftalmologi di Hospital Kuala Lumpur. FRCOphth daripada Royal College of Ophthalmologists di United Kingdom. CCST dalam oftalmologi daripada Majlis Perubatan Malaysia. Selepas itu, felowship okuloplastik lanjutan di Leeds Teaching Hospitals: latihan subkepakaran yang sepenuhnya tertumpu pada kelopak mata, sistem air mata dan rongga mata.

Bidang

Ptosis, iaitu kelopak mata jatuh, yang biasanya berpunca daripada otot yang meregang dan bukan keletihan. Entropion dan ektropion, apabila kelopak melipat ke dalam atau ke luar. Ketulan kelopak mata dan kanser kulit kelopak mata. Mata berair, yang selalunya masalah saliran: salur air mata tersumbat menghalang air mata mengalir keluar, dan dirawat dengan pembedahan salur air mata termasuk DCR, yang membuka laluan baharu untuk air mata ke hidung. Penyakit mata tiroid dan penyakit rongga mata. Pembedahan katarak. Rawatan mata akut. Dan minat khusus: estetik periorbital dan peremajaan kelopak mata, secara pembedahan dan bukan pembedahan.

Penyelidikan dan penerbitan

Profil akademik yang aktif: enam kertas kajian yang disemak rakan sebidang, lebih tiga puluh pembentangan dan poster di mesyuarat kebangsaan dan antarabangsa, dan minat penyelidikan dalam penyakit mata tiroid, penyakit rongga mata, pembedahan salur air mata dan rawatan invasif minimum. Apabila sesebuah artikel dalam The Eyelid Edit menggunakan kajian Dr Catherine sendiri, artikel itu menyatakannya dan memaut ke sini.

Komuniti

Antara 2023 dan 2025, Dr Catherine menyertai enam kem pembedahan katarak di Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah dan Hospital Lipis. Setiap kem ialah tiga hari pembedahan katarak intensif untuk pesakit di kawasan luar bandar Pahang yang jika tidak terpaksa menunggu bertahun-tahun untuk melihat semula. Dr Catherine juga membimbing pelatih untuk peperiksaan FRCOphth dan mengajar kemahiran pembedahan secara langsung, termasuk pembedahan katarak, jahitan dan pembedahan kelopak mata.
