This is the educational website of Dr Catherine Chow. Dr Catherine Chow is the data controller for this site.

What this site collects. This site has no accounts or newsletter, and its only form is the search box. It does not set cookies, and it does not ask for your name, contact details or health information.

Search. Search runs in your browser. What you type is not sent to us.

Hosting and visit counts. Cloudflare hosts this site. To deliver pages and protect the site, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic details of each request, keeps security logs for a limited time, and may receive a short error report from your browser if a page fails to load. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or other identifiers stored on your device. We see only totals, such as pages viewed and country. Cloudflare may process this information outside Malaysia.

Settings on your device. If you pause the animations, your browser remembers that choice. It also keeps a note of which articles were already published at your last visit, so that newer ones can be marked as new. Both stay on your device and are not sent to us.

Links. Links to Instagram, Google Maps and other websites take you to services with their own privacy policies.

Instagram. If you message Dr Catherine Chow on Instagram (@drcatherinec), Instagram (Meta) holds the message under its own terms and privacy policy. Please do not send medical details or photographs there. A message cannot replace an examination. For an urgent eye problem, go to the nearest hospital emergency department.

Questions. Questions about this page can be sent as a direct message on Instagram (@drcatherinec). Please leave out medical details.
